What I'm working on

After my meeting with Janet Odgis at Odgis + Co I have been working with updating my portfolio. Here are some things I'm currently working on WHILST AT WORK! HELL YEAH! FOOL THE SYSTEM PEOPLE! *is fired* Awwwwww

As you might be able to tell its all one big mess of style, I really have to settle down and concentrate my work if I am going to be able to land a good intership.

Firt Impressions

Its been, what three weeks since I first lugged my suitcases up into my dorm room on campus. Oh I still remember the aqumilating stress of being dropped into a fucking filthy room in a strange new country. But I won't bore me with diving into retrospective whining about the state of the place. It was grosse, now its less grosse, let's leave it with that.

I also have a room mate, let's call her London, because one; that's where she's from, and two; seeing as 80% of the students here haven't ever seen an European (except in photos) and find her accent to be like the coolest invention since, I don't know, weed! Oh, my favourite question to poor London (so far) is "have you met the Queen?" She's from England so surly she must have, serioiusly...

I also have three, no wait, four other room/flatmates (although I might as well just have had three, but we'll get to that). Two Latinas, one rather ADD photo major and a Korean who hardly comes out of her room except to pee on the toilet ring (or so I'm told)

Brynat and the City

Since last I wrote I have left the fair land of Sweden to travel a cors the sea to the land of plenty, hospitality and over sized. I'm sitting in the Tsco. family's temporary house in CT, before moving onto campus tomorrow. I've only been here a few days but because of everyone's helpfulness and generosity I can conclude that so far so good. I have been treated to, but not limited to, food, housing, transportation, more food, movies, Broadway shows, drinks, baseball games, cell phones, yoga mats and cooking appliances. These people are so very nice.

A.T, the oldest of the Tsco kids is a talented photographer and costume designer in New York City. Together with M.B she just concluded the performance of "Bryant In The Park": a performance play set in Bryant Park about a fictional croquet society using the work of William Cullen Bryant. A.T designed the costumes of the piece that has received publicity by The New York Times as well as Time Out New York.

"A dozen members of the exclusive and imaginary Bryant Park Croquet Society were dressed in white and playing croquet on Bryant Park's main lawn. Sipping tea and gossiping, they amuse the crowd that gathers around. Suddenly, as if possessed by a spirit, they burst into William Cullen Bryant's odes to nature. Slowly, they begin to transform and finally surrender to summer and its wild power through dance, music, and movement. At the end of the performance, members of the Bryant Park Croquet Society collected onlookers' feelings about summer."

I've also been treated to a Boston Red Socks vs New York Yankees baseball game as well as a BBQ, a new cell phone and kitchen appliances to my new apartment. I'm happy, I'm so glad.
